Why would I buy the 50 pack of bic pencils that I&#039;ll toss every month when I can buy a substantial instrument made of solid brass that I know I will own for 5+ years? Likewise, why would I buy a $100 Jensen deck when I can afford an Eclipse or top end Alpine and have the measurable &quot;benefits&quot; (tuning options, quality, etc.) for a longer period of time?Of course the astute will say &quot;but what about obsolesces?&quot; Well, my pappy taught me a very useful lesson years ago. There will ALWAYS be something newer, faster, better, shinier, sexier, etc. When does it stop then? It doesn&#039;t. I&#039;m a freak for technology and new STUFF, but I have learned to practice restraint and stick to the things I have already &quot;invested&quot; in.Just sharing the inner workings of my consumerist mind.
