Same here man.. I bought my first car with all of the money I had saved from doing odd jobs in the summer time. I drove that piece for 6 years and still own it to this date. Still have yet to replace anything major on it. It's been a hell of a reliable car and gets around 30mpg on the highway. I don't know how many people I have known & went to school with that had vehicles bought for them and barely made it through high school with a running vehicle. You end up appreciating your property a lot more when you put your own money into it. A lot of those guys are on their 3rd/4th vehicles now and I just got my 2nd earlier last year. With 3 vehicles, the 02 rsx type S, 03 dodge intrepid and 93 dodge spirit.. I am paying $182/mo for full coverage on the rsx & intrepid & liability on the spirit. My deductibles are set pretty low @ 200$ too. That comes with 6 years accident free driving, no citations in 3 years, being in the military ect. I'm happy my parents didn't buy me a vehicle and my kids will be raised the same way.
