Well now I have access to a table saw, so I decided to just give it a go. I was contemplating a ported enclosure, but found that there isn't enough space in the trunk opening to fit a box bigger than 2.9 internal volume before displacement. For some 15" drivers this would probably be enough to get a decent ported enclosure, but I am suspecting not this one. According to this shootout here (it's the poweramper) http://www.caraudiomag.com/specialfeatures/0107cae_subwoofer02/ the 12" version likes a lot of sealed air space, so the 15 is goig to want even more room obviously. So I figured if it like large sealed, it's going to want more than 3 for a ported. I can't really mess up a sealed too much anyway right? so I settled on 2.75 cu ft and polyfilled. I am just waiting for the grill to come in and then I can slap the woofer in and call it a day. I may need to brace it later. I want to get the woofer in and see if the sides flex or not beofre I do, but it feels pretty solid. Instead of carpeting, I went with Epoxy resin and then fleckstone. [QUOTE="IamDeMan, post: 1047072, member: 557673"] At building my own box. The best part is it isn't mine lol. So if I mess it up too much, I won't have to live with it. I usually buy prefab (I know) or have someone else build while I sit back, sip a cold one and watch.
