my day as a radiological technician (Loooooong)

Im just starting college really and took an exploratory class to see if i would like what is done taking xrays and doing other things radiologists do..

this class requires to spend n 8 hour day shadowing a tech and observing and taking notes to see if u like it..

get there at 8am.. get to the spot im suppose to be at like 10 people standing thee doing absolutely nothing.. basically people wait till they get a call..

30 mins later they get a call to take a portable x ray of some ones chest.. get there and its some guy who took bout 40 of some pills.. like sleeping pills in attempted suicide or some ****, pumped that guys stomach and took xrays, that fool was shaking pretty wild.. kinda was like wow..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

after thats done.. go back to the room where every1 hangs out, and after sending the xrays to the DR to check out.. theres a loud like BEEEEEEEEp like a dam submarine going to battle or somthing..

i said sure ill go see this **** and observe

some dood at like 9am shot to the left hand and in the chest.. i seriously have no idea why i was there in the emergency room watching this stuff, but stood there with my lead apron on n watched the main dr ppl do their ****, and again xrays were taken of his chest/hand to see bones fuked n whats up.. the chest one entered right side in between the ribs and went along the whole front of the chest and went out, looked kinda bad but it wasnt.. the hand.. now **** looked f'ed up

went through the palm and out the top of the hand.. i dont know whats going to happen to that hand with it being a (.45 or 10mm) doin the dmg..

i kinda expected a boring taking xrays of sick people.. after that it was kinda boring watching CT scans and ****..

I wish my school offered a degree in radiology but they don't. Nor the surrounding schools.

i dont think its really much....

starting at the place was at is starting $18

with like 1 more year of school goes to 25

and a bit more goes up

still not much if u think bout it as a lifelong career to support a big family and house and such..

i think the stuff is pretty cool tho..

my freind who is 19 is a EMT.....he has the craziest stories like these except he sees people die. The best story was when the driver of his ambulance was pulled over for speeding and then argued with the cop to the point that he was tazed and arrested
