I'm planning on putting 5-1/4 components in my truck. I want to put the components in the factory locations, and I want the entire installation to be stealth, so I want to take each existing 6x8 mounting location and put both a 5-1/4 midwoofer AND its matching tweeter in that space. Many car audio places sell 6x8 to 5-1/4 adapter brackets, but they all have the 5-1/4 centered in the bracket, without enough excess bracket space to also mount the tweet. Anyone know of a place that sells a 6x8 to 5-1/4+tweet bracket adapter? Or am I just going to have to make these brackets myself? If I end up having to do it myself, what's generally considered the best material for making speaker adapter brackets? (Strong without being ridiculously thick and vibration-resistant or easily damped.) Thanks
