Might be the tinsel leads slapping the backside of the cones you might be hearing....I would investigate that 1st.It could be well the box also.....since you say your tuned pretty low, they may not play frequencies well above the tuning as apposed to a slightly higher tuned enclosure of preferance....which I'm leaning towards.Can you post pics of your set up?
