Hello all. I've been out of car audio for a long time. Forgot I was even a member of this forum till today. Just spent the last hour reading through some of my old post from 14 yrs ago lol. I'm am old man now but I still love a good sounding system. I'm taking over my father's 06 F150 supercrew cab because he's no longer able to drive. The truck is stock and the HU is a factory 6 disc changer that doesn't work. I'm gonna change the HU. Then I thought to myself, you still have some old equipment. Why not put a full system in? So I guess that's what I'm gonna do. There are things I will need to get. So here it is. I'm not looking to break the bank or break the ground. Just want something nice and clean on a budget . I have 2 old alpine type r 10's(swr1042D I think), I have a jl 300/4v1 a jl 1000/v1, a DD MC1, jl 6x9(c2690 something). But one cone is seized but the mid range a tweeter still works. May just throw those in the back doors for rear fill? So basically need a hu and door speakers. Factory speakers are 6x8. Looking for some good clean budget friendly options. Not opposed to a component set, but that wasn't my first choice. Any suggestions? Also don't have a problem buying used if anyone has something nice for a decent price. Funny thing is most of the equipment I have to use was bought from the classifieds from this site back in 2011. Everything still works perfectly with the exception of one of the 6x9 speakers. Gotta love old gen car audio.
