I had a FLowmaster 50 SUV on my new truck and it sounded crackly and the HP rating wasn't very good. The cab noise was annoying. It's good for a 16-18 year old kid who just wants people to look at him. I think the cab noise was a direct result of the baffle placement. Magnaflow uses a straight through design. Nothing is better than straight through for performance. If you're a poser then pick Flowmaster instead imo. If you want a cheaper muffler that sounds exactly the same if not better...try a Cherry Bomb Vortex as mentioned by a previous poster. I had one in my last truck and it sounded excellent. I just put on a Magnaflow 5x8x14 oval offset/offset 2.5/2.5 and it's much better. The cab is noise is low so I feel I can hear my audio system better. The sound is excellent. When pick up from about 3000 rpms it really thunders to life. The HP gain was nearly double at 10hp-11hp gain. I added a K&N air charger and picked up another9-10hp. Topped it off with a SCT x3 custom tune for a net gain of about 19hp and 2.3mpg. Dyno tested best of 331hp over stock 292hp. I could have been a little more crazy on the tune but I didn't want to lose anymore mpg. Go with Magnaflow imo. Whatever you decide performancepeddler.com is the best place to buy. They have the most insanely low pricing w/ free shipping. Their customer service is exceptional. I bought everything from them except my SCT xcal3.
