There are way more Microsoft haters out there than there are for Mac OS. They are not more stable as they can fail just as much as a PC. Since PC is pretty much open source, there are many programmers out there writing stuff for the PC...some of which can cause conflicts. You have to give up a little bit of reliablility to get more software, sadly. They are not better for graphic design work either.
