[QUOTE="richgonfishn, post: 360688, member: 551978"] I recently purchased a 2002 F-150, Crew Cab, 4x4. The system is the stock cassete with 6-disc Cd changer. I'm not sure if there are 4 or 6 speakers in the cab. I don't want to drop a boat load of money into this sound system. I say boat load because a couple years back, I took my 2000 Maxum 21ft open bow in for A LITTLE nicer system. Well about $3200.00 later, I had a system that would rock the lake!!! If possible, I'd like to keep the stock unti. I was wondering if simply replacing the speakers would make a difference? I have no idea on the power of the stock system, but I'm sure it's very basic. I don't crank my music.... unless it's a good song or maybe one of my favorite CD's. How would I tell if the stock unit has a sub output? If you were in my shoes and had $300.00, what would you do? What speakers will replace the existing speakers with no modifictions? Please take in account the $300.00 needs to include installation. Oh, I guess I should state my current issue. The system is easily distorted. I can only turn to about 1/4 volume. I'm not looking to win any audio contests, simply would like a better more crisp sound without lots of BLING BLING. Thank you!!
