I did check out the sony, and it is definitely high end, but was just wanting a single din that could do all the setting just on it, with flac file compatibility ,without any laptop computers or aps. That,s why I kept my older alpine anniversary 7909 so long, just play the cd,and it had the ability to shut even the small disply completely off.So no need for navigation maps, back up camers, garage door opener, phone call accepter, and every app under the sun that doesn't have anything to do with, High end, high volume listening.I like the oldschool quality stereos like Richard Clark put together .Where you physically half to put your hands on actual slide rails of equalizers, and position all your high end speakers etc to get the best sound quality out of the car your in.Not many people like to do it this way anymore. But for me,its far more fun to physically listen by ear to set it all up,No computer help or app help.Still want to keep it exactly like that, just be able to play flac files,So I can access my classic rock music songs a lot easier. I do not own a cell phone,or laptop and never intend on getting either one. So a head unit with all the settings in it is crucial for it to work for me. Also the head unit doesn't half to be new at all,It just had to sound rich, and full, and clear from the start,So I'm not trying to tune with junk, and no matter how much tuning or setting I do can'tt do anything to get around, that it was never intended on sounding good. A good head unit to me,was always able to be brought into the house'and hooked up to high end amplifier, and have it sound very good, with just the head unit ,quality home amplifier, and quality speakers.I'm still going to check out that pioneer head unit recommended to me earlier, justt was scared it wouldn't last long,Would be the cheapest deck I ever purchased in my life, about 5 times as cheap as I've ever had to spend.I guess it won't be as cheap by the time I covert it from canadian funds to us funds. again thanks for everyones help so far.

[QUOTE="masterblaster1, post: 8913298, member: 679842"] Thanks for everyones help so far.
