[QUOTE="keep_hope_alive, post: 6883550, member: 576029"] that PAC LOC will only tell the amp to turn on when there is a signal on the speaker wires - i.e. the head unit is on and playing. when the head unit is off, the LOC will turn the amps off. that's no different than aftermarket, other than a slight delay. any other remote wire source will give you issues (unless it comes from the factory radio). PAC makes nice stuff. i'm not sure how you make the leap to thinking a LOC will shorten the life of your battery, unless you thought the LOC was always on? You're biggest issue is the Honda ELD (electronic load detector). That little bugger will turn off the alternator while you are driving, meaning your amp will be running on battery only, shortening it's life and reducing voltage. The ELD monitors ignition system current and assumes that's the only load on the alternator. When ignition current is low (i.e. fans off, etc.) it turns off the alternator to increase fuel mileage.
