My wife just had the PRK surgery done. The Air Force paid for it, so I don't have any clue how much it would cost on the outside. I will tell you though that the doctors in the Air Force won't do Lasik. The big difference is in Lasik they cut a little flap on your outer eye and then reattach it, but in PRK they just completely remove it. The doctor said they had some problems with Lasik patients where the flap never healed back to they eye, other cases where the flap got wrinkled, distorting the person's vision. Lasik is a lot less painful than PRK, but my wife was only hurting for about 3 days, then she was fine. Now she has 20/15 vision and loves not having to wear glasses. Except sunglasses, you're gonna need those for a LONG time.
