Only thing i noticed was one of the fans has come bit loose but isn't attached to board just has 2 metal screw fins that stick up and has a screw on each side to hold it firm then and then has a wire that plugs into the board to power it and thats all i could see period that wasn't how everything was and is supposed to be SIGHS!!
I have A OPTI-4000D Amp and the other day here i had it on 2 Fosgate HX2's 12" turned down waiting on my power HX2's 2 get back from re-coning. Here it was working fine doing great like it has always done here i parked my car overnight next day went to drive it,turned on stereo and now all i get is a thump then it produces no sound here i investigated what was going on here the over load/protection is turning on after initial power on here all i get is thump then protection. Here i thought perhaps i burnt one of the HX2 coils so i unhooked the subs from the amp completely & still power on then protection!! Here i took the bottom cover off thinking crap i blew the rail chips somehow but nothing looks like it has been hot no circuits blew or burnt anywhere from what i can tell & from my looking. So If anyone knows anything about these amps and what could cause the protection to kick on Please offer some advise or worse come to worse some things that i could test that would cause the protection to turn on 3 seconds after initial power on!! I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT !!! THANKS SPARKY
