Just got laid off a couple days ago, looking for new work right now. Where do you guys go to find job openings? I checked the web but other than searching companies one by one I can only find **** like fast food restaurants, grocery stores, local auto parts stores, nothing that is gonna have even decent pay. I have my diploma plus a couple years of college under me, no degrees or anything like that from college. Not really looking for anything in particular. Gonna check the newspaper here in a bit, but thats about all i can think of, anyone got any ideas?

The military. Serious too. It's no where near as bad as some people make it out to be. I'm in the army and my wife in the Air Force great money. We make 120k between us both. Benefits are second to none. I'm about to have a major back surgery on the 15th and will be out of work for 8 weeks and will get paid the entire time and use none of my 30 days a year of leave time

monster.com, if your in a bigger city they usually have a newspaper or two that comes out every week with decent jobs, (at least in Madison). ask friends and family, craigslist if you get desoerate. a degree definetely helps, maybe get a decent part time and go get a degree so you have a better chance of making bookoo bucks.

What do you do they have hundreds of skilled trade jobs starting in the next few weeks.

If you where a rigger like me you could simply travel to the work l. Job in elpaso tx is 28hr 85day 7 12hr days with the 14th day off for 3months

or in lake charles they have a 7 12s for 7months job making 27hr and 70day 14th day off

Have you asked your family if they of herd of anything?
Yeah my brother told me he could get me on at the shop he works at doing oil changes and what not, but I'm not quite ready to go back to being paid minimum wage.

I considered the military at one point in my life, considering it again, however it is a pretty big commitment.

It is a big commitment. But it was the best decision I have ever made. I really enjoy. I wish I had went into the Air Force instead of the Army. They have a better quality of life because they spend more money on housing and stuff like that. But you get to do more fun stuff in the army. My wife has only shot a weapon once in her 6 years. I go to the range ever 3 months and have shot all kinds of cool weapons. I work as a satellite controller now and could make great money working for Boeing or Lockheed Martin. But I have 8 years in almost 9. Gonna stay in for 11 more and I can retire. Can't beat it. Now is a great time to join because the wars are drawing down so you don't really have to worry about deploying like years past.

What stomach pain? I just found out I have Crohn's. Don't know if I'll be able to stay in till retirement. But if not, I'll get a fat disability percentage between that and messing my back up while deployed.

OP. Talk to ranger danger and see what degree he has. He is only like 18 and owns a 99 Tahoe and still lives with his parents. Plus he has his own gun. He's on the fast track to a successful life and career. He would be the one to talk to. Plus he always talks about how he has outgrown car audio and then sticks around and tried to troll and seem like he is cool. He can probably give you some valuable advice about life I'm sure. He's had to grind out his entire 18 years of life. It's hard for a suburban kid these days
