Umm, I have a 134 GT, and the MOS REQUIRED a 110, I don't know of any that require any higher. That's beside the point, I'm just saying its not as easy as you make it seem all the time. Even when you're mentioning a reclass, that's still a FOUR YEAR WAIT to even have an opportunity to advance. Which didnt matter anyway as I got hit with a round downrange that ended my military career. I've seen the pay charts for Lockheed, that was a company I was considering moving for a position with, until deciding it was a poor career choice. Maybe so for a fresh out of school engineer, but any engineer with A DECADE of professional experience, unless they're just not worth sh*t, is pulling in well past 60K. Regardless, you're just citing one example. The majority of people in the military are making about a whopping $25-30K/year or less. You forget there's THOUSANDS of barracks across the globe full of E1-5's that are bringing in their base, minus their food, which doesn't amount to much. Oh but they get benefits, that's worth a whole lot to young people who don't generally get sick (I'd bet most sick calls are work related injuries), that either aren't married, don't have kids, or don't have primary custody of their children. How much do you really think the average 18-30 year old spends on healthcare in a given year?
