I mean it is barely pushing the 15" L7 i have, yet when i go to crank up my HU volume to about 75-80 percent i get a very distorted sound from the sub. I am also using two 8 gauge power wires, one for the 4 channel amp and one for the subwoofer amp. The box i have the sub in is a 3.5 cubic foot ported box. I used to have an old sony amp and 2 MTX thunder series subs that i could push just as loud as this L7 with no clipping... thats why im wondering how it would be a power issue. Im not pushing this amp to its limits what-so-ever. Any input would be greatly appreciated, as i am kind of nooby at this stuff.
So I have 1994 honda civic with stock alt, stock battery, and I HAVE NOT done the big 3 upgrade. My question is, could this cause my kicker CX1200.1 amp to clip when the gain on it is only set to about 1/4?
