Hi guys, I'm looking for some advice regarding the installation of JVC KD-S611 head unit in a Mark II VW Golf. It has been a while since I have fitted a car radio and so I'm a little lost. In short, I can't get the unit to power up. I have identified the following earth and live connections in the car: Brown: Earth Red: Live (wire has a fuse break) From the JVC head unit (according to the radio manual): Black: Earth Yellow: "to a live terminal box connecting to the battery (bypassing the ignition)" Red: "to an accessory terminal in the fuse box" I'm a little confused as to the reason for the red and yellow off the head unit. but I am guessing this is to have the unit only work when/if the keys are in the ignition. But what if I just want the unit live with ignition switched off, should I wire the red and yellow together? I have tried most combinations but just can't get it to power up - any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Rob.
