Everytime I look at comps installed in cars I notice that the mid bass is mostly installed in the lower front portion of the door panel, and or the kick panel. then the tweeter is usually installed up very high on the door near the window or in the post between the windshield and side window. Now I figure people do this to bring the highs closer to ear level. But isn't it better to keep the midbass and tweeter as close together as possible? I'm going to have the lower portion of my front doors fiberglassed to form pods for the 8" midbass drivers and I was going to have the tweeter mounted in the pod as well. maybe have both speakers angled up and towards the front seats a bit. Is this the right way or should I do what everyone else has done and mount the tweeters way up high. I don't think it would be the better way to do it but so many people have it that way.
