Ok, I had one JBL 1200.1 running at 2.8 ohms to my dual 1.4ohm MT (since I didn't want to run it at .7). I got an Orion 2500d and dropped it in place of the JBL at 2.8 ohms also (due to not enough electrical to run at .7 YET) OK heres whats happening. Both amps are running at the same impedance, meaning the Orion should be a bit louder right? In order to get the same output as the JBL had I have to turn the gain pretty much all the way up on the Orion. At that point the Orion is AS LOUD as the JBL not much louder. Keep in mind this is from the JBL being at 2.8 ohms also. Also, the Orion amp runs very hot compared to the JBL. Is that normal? I am hoping this amp at least doubles in its output when I drop her down to .7 ohms after I upgrade the electrical a little more. Whats going on here? Thanks for any help guys.
