first post I searched before posting but everything I came up with was dated...one poster mentioned that with 'some' iPod cables that also charge, there are noise issues... couldn't decide whether to post under "Electrical" or "General"...electrical won... here's what I did: used PIE adapter (w/5V power for Sat radio) to access aux-in on my factory radio. split the stereo mini-plug input on the PIE unit to two stereo mini plugs using Monster Cable headhone splitter. ran one stereo mini plug to sirius sat dock adapted other stereo mini-plug to rca using Monster Cable adapter. used rca inputs to connect iPod using Peripheral iPod interface cable. Peripheral also charges iPod connected Peripheral power/ground to factory stereo acc power/ground... only one of the two sources is on at any given time... Sat radio is clean, sounds great! problem: iPod has low hissing sound, actually more of a very 'fine' buzzing while playing and it increases with volume...it's still very listenable but I don't think I should have to put up with it. When the iPod is paused, and the volume turned up, you can really hear it. In fact, it sounds like you can hear the actual mechanism of the hard drive. Along with the fine buzzing, there is faint 'clicking' and 'beeping' that relate to the scrolling of the album title and maybe the standby of the hard-drive while being paused. You can also hear an electrical sound when screens are changed on the iPod, when the back-light goes on, click wheel is manipulated, etc. If the ipod is turned off but remains connected (charging), only the 'fine' buzz remains but all noise doesn't dissappear until you disconect the iPod completely. Comments/Thoughts/Experiences?...other than iPods **** vehicle is '05 Ford F350 Thank you- Bill McCall Reno, NV
