Doesnt the Ipod video play WMV?

The easiest way I found to get them was through the Nero suite. Pop in your DVD or use the DVD files and it will convert the movie in about 20-30 mins or so. I have an assload of them for my PSP.

Thats what I was gonna suggest as well.
