Intermittent Engine Whine and Clipping I am expierencing a very strange kind of engine noise. I am just looking for any ideas or solutions to this issue. I had this very basic system (will detail items installed later) professionally installed so I do not have an in depth knowledge of how exactly thing are laid out. Problem: Intermittent Engine Whine and Clipping from only one side (passenger side) of my front component set. This whine and clipping seems to happen for seemingly no reason. Mostly occurs after driving for some time over 20+ minutes. Here are some of my observations of this issue. - Intermittent - Whine does increase under acceleration - Problem can occur even if the HU is off while driving - Whine gets louder if it starts and I turn the HU off - Problem also present if vehicle not running (meaning if problem occurs while driving and I stop it does not just go away if I turn the car off. - Whine is shortly followed by a complete clipping of the component set When I switched the RCA’s on the amp from right to left the problem is reversed to the driver’s side. I was thinking that meant a bad amp but the unnamed installers think it may be the factory HU “chasing the problem”. Also one other strange bit of info is when the whine begins if I hit the power locks it will simply go away for a short time. This only works for awhile and does not always remove the whine. Items installed: Running factory HU hoping someone thinks this is the issue with the line converter as I am replacing it with the Pioneer F700BT . 4 channel Almani 800 watt amp running 1 set of 61/2 5 series Almani components up front and a set of 61/2 Almani 5 series rear door speakers. Replaced the under seat sub with blaupunkt 200a 8”. Thanks all in advance…
