I want to get another headunit but it doesnt have a sub output. It has 4 audio outputs RCA (Front and Rear, Left and Right) and my sub requires 2 RCA Left and Right channels. I will be using the built in amp to power my car speakers so this wont be a problem. Can i use the audio outputs (RCAs) e.g. the 2 front left and right to send the signal to my subs amplifier. It has a crossover as i tested this by using a 3.5mm jack to 2 RCAs from my ipod and it only produced the bass from my songs. So, can i use the Front RCA's (Left and Right channels) to send signal to my amp? or will the signal not be powerful enough? As from experiance, its not a very high output as if you connect a speaker thats not running from an amp its very quite. Does this matter as the sub amp will amplify it? But if the signal sound is low, then the sub wont be very loud? How you understand what i mean? Basicly, i want to run the sub amp from left and right channels audio outputs on head unit and my sub amp requires 2 RCAs (left and right) but will the volume of the signal coming from the RCAs be enough to use fully power of the sub? Thanks.
