I was wondering if anyone knows the difference between the input level and gain level on an amp. My amp has both a input level adjustment, adjustable from 0db to -24db, and a Gain level adjustment adjustable from +9db to 0db. I know you are supposed to set the gain control with the head unit to avoid clipping. But what is the deal with the input level adjustment. Im pretty sure that the input level should be lowered as your preout voltage from the head unit goes up (say from 2v to 5v) or is it the gain that goes down? or both? I have no idea:banghead:
