I have a 2003 Cadillac Escalade with the 6.0L. Ok, I have the big 3 done with 0 AWG Welding cable and grounded properly. I have a Sears Die Hard Platinum AGM (Odyssey) under the hood and I have a run of 0 AWG welding cable to my amp. As far as equipment, I have a Soundstream DTR.3400 wired up to an 18" AA D2 Havoc and it's running at 1 Ohm (2,200 watts peak). At the amp, there is a voltage drop to 12v here and there but mostly it's around 12.8-13.3 with the big hits. I'm thinking a HO Alternator...? Would a 200 amp Alternator suffice or spend the extra $50.00 and get a 270 amp. The main problem I have it my lights dimming.
