IMO, get a head unit with 2-3 RCA pre-amp outs (my alpine 9843 only has one, but I'm not needing an amp for fronts just yet). Get a four channel bridgeable amp. Two channels to run the components (or whatever you want) in the doors then bridge the other two channels to run a sub (10" or 12") in a sealed box. However, this all may topple your budget. A good "budget" head unit will be $150-200 (mine retails for $150). Then depending on what deal you can find: front speakers ~$50, amp (totally depends on what you want vs. what deal you find) ~$100-300. You might have to wait on subs until later. I'll be the first to admit, I don't have hands-on experience with all of this, mostly just research on forums, so anyone can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong. I bet they'll tell you to spend more on a good head unit/component set/amp and wait on subs until later and to drop the 6x9's, just my guess. For the door, mainly a dremel or jigsaw will cut a decent hole. I believe it was Lemans who said, "measure five times, cut once." You wouldn't want to cut a hole and mount a speaker to find that when you roll your window down, it hits the speaker, though in a Cheyenne I doubt that'll be much of a problem. My $.02, hope it helps. C
