[QUOTE="AScreenName, post: 371960, member: 544731"] well i have what i think is an 85 amp alt. i'm already running a soundstream edge 4120. its class A/B so the max current draw is 50 amps (fuses are 2X25). i'm only using 2 channels off that right now. i have his 500/1 @ 4 ohms, and its all digital class d. so there isn't really a huge power strain on my elec system right now. but the max current draw on the brutus is 120 (fuses are 2X60) so at 1500 watts @ 1 ohm, i'm assuming its going to have quite a bit of current draw. i'm assuming 60 amps at the least? or am i wrong. basically, how can my elec system take that? in a short time i'll be purchasing a yellow top and a 200 amp alt, so i w*on't have to worry about it anymore. but do you think it would be safe for my elec system to wire that thing at 1 ohm/1500 watts? and also would it be safe for the A to get 1500 watts? eD recommends no higher than 1000 in a ported enclosure, but i know you guys are sending more than that in ported enclosures. i suppose i'll wire it both ways and see how it goes. but if anyone wants to give some insight on how they think my elec system is going to do, and how the A is going to do with 1500 watts/1 ohm, it'd be appreciated.
