I traded my IDQ with my buddy for the 2 12" 7500s just because one of them had just as good (IMO) sq coming from my trunk with more spl. Well tonight my buddy calls me and says one of the coils was blown. I got the sub a while back and didnt have a DMM so i never even thought to check the coils. I never while i was listening to it heard a decrease in output or really never fed it too much power or distortion. I think i got this sub with a blown coil so i never heard the full potential of a 15" IDQ
I am just upset because now i want to buy a brand new IDQ to hear what they really sound like. My buddy didnt want to use it just sell it because he had a better chance selling the 10/10 cosmetic sub over his 2 12" with some cosmetic damage. He said he is still going to sell it, but he just hates to have a half working sub. I feel terrible and told him i would trade back but he said its ok..... the moral of my story is ****ing always check the coils when you get a used sub. Obviously i wasnt smart at all and missed my opportunity to return the sub.
