I dont give a flying **** about impressing anyone but my wife. I've owned regular units my whole life, but 2 years ago I broke down and put a pioneer in dash DVD with a DD processor in my Silverado. For the first time, I found myself enjoying scrolling thru the menus and tweaking all the features (which I was surprised were quite effective). It was the first HU I was never fustrated with. Menus were clearly laid out and easy to touch and navigate. That system was also the best sounding one I had heard in a long time. Another big reason is I own alot of live concerts on DVD (Slipknot live in London is one of my favorites). I can't tell you how many times I've sat waiting in my car and enjoyed a live concert or movie scene.

Oh, and dont even get me started on what I, or anyone else, NEEDS. Get some perspective man seriously!!!! This is car audio, and it is all NEEDLESS. Some guys run 8 x 1500W Subs because they're going for SPL; Some guys run fiber optics, 32 band EQs, and all that because theyre going for SQ- I doubt you could seriously justify the NEED for either. You're setup is in a CAR!!! I. E. basically the worst environment for quality audio (you're sitting in the front left corner, right next to one of the speakers, nothing is really in front of you, and in most cases-at least for the bass- is behind you. Not to mention this environment is suspended over rubber wheels and fliying around at 60+ MPH.)

Seriously, does your cell phone have a camera? Ill bet it does, and how needless is that? A basic phone can cost hundreds less than a upgraded high res camera phone, and with that difference you could just buy a digital camera which will perform MUCH better (sound familiar anyone?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif).

But I really started this train of thought when I threw out the term "audiophile" somewhere in the first few threads. No, I am not looking for a recording studio on wheels. I just wanna get some high SQ. Ive heard SPL and its cool for about a week, and then its old (same with cutt off exhausts and all that crap).I am not looking to impress anyone sitting in the passenger seat, cuz honestly, I never play music at loud volumes unless its by myself. I feel thats a little inconsiderate.

Im not critisizing you at all. You obviously take SQ extremely seriously, and that is all you are concerned about. Go for it, if that is what makes you happy. I want more from my HU that JUST SOUND. I want to enjoy the HU too. Im spending God knows how much on the rest of my system, whats wrong with wanting a little more out of the HU? Some good graphical displays or an on screen EQ that I can adjust without having to select each band individually, all while still having excellent SQ. Thinking that anyone who doesnt prioritize anything the way you do is ignorance in its true form, and all of us on here should be better than that.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
