system in sig with an everstart maxx battery under the hood (875ca) and a 200a mean green alt. starting to work on my electrical a little bit more now, and am trying to get the voltage drops under control (not THAT bad even. these kickers are pretty efficient ). but none the less, the better the voltage, the happier ill be. so i figured time to add another battery. heres my issue: all my research has told me to not mix a deep cycle style battery and a regular battery. research has also told me not to put the extra battery in my hatch area due to the gas released. so im kind of in a jam...how do i add more batteries that i can put in the back without going to a sealed battery or mixing battery types? i dont want to really buy a deep cycle battery but these seem to be the only ones that are fully sealed. so what the **** do i do? i thought about putting in a everstart maxx marine battery since its supposedly not a real deep cycle but its somewhat sealed...is this a bad idea considering i have a regular starting battery under the hood? anyone with an explorer with more than 1 batt chime in... what im hoping to accomplish is, keeping my voltage up, without blowing my car up... edit: more research shows that most marine batteries are considered "hybrid" and shouldnt be discharged more than 50%. so im assuming they are not a deep cycle battery (mostly) anyone know if the marine maxx batteries are sealed?
