i bought an aftermarket shift knob, but i cant get it on my threads. its the cheap kind with the plastic caps and the three allen screws. it almost works with the caps but it is much too tall. so far i have tried tape to make the threaded shaft thicker so the screws could catch, and i cut one of the plastic caps so it could slide to the bottom. I dont really mind spending money on a name brand knob, but i really like this one. Any ideas are appreciated.
