I have a 750 watt Generac Inverter. It will be used to charge cordless batteries and phones. I want the inverter to turn off with the car. Every time I have done this, I have simply used a connector to come off of one of the fuses (load) in the fuse box, however, this one is a little bigger pulling roughly 70A at a full load. It looks as if the only way I will be able to hook it up is directly to the battery (fused). Do they make some type of contactor that I could use from one of the smaller fuses that turn off/on with the car (ignition)? If not do you guys have any suggestions over a simply switch, there is one on the inverter but I know good and well one of my techs will forget to turn it off and kill the battery.
