The hook is hooked to the very roof of my trunk. the other end is secured in a tab of angle iron with a hole drilled through it with the lock on the other side.I drilled a hole as big as the pipe threw the floor of my trunk. putting the lock just below my trailor hitch. So instead of having just 1 trunk lock that some 1 can pop with a screw driver, I have 2 locks and i am very happy with it knowing no one will get my stuff. My head unit is bolted in by a cable and bolted to a secure spot under my dash the cable is like 3 foot long so they would never find it.
