Hey Guys. I have a pair of JL Audio 8 Inch W6-D4's. These two drivers require 200 WRMS EACH and have DUAL voice coils. I want to wire the coils AND the drivers in Parallel as diagramed by JL Audio themselves to present a 1.5 Ohm load The specifications of these drivers are as follows: Pt (Continuous thermal power handling): 200 WRMS Re (DC resistance): 10.6 OHM (in series) Znom (nominal impedance): 6 Ohm Voice coils: 2 My questions are the following: If what I have read and discovered is correct, wiring both of the drivers in the above mentioned configuarion will give me a 1.5 Ohm load. Is this correct? AND, if so... With the below mentioned Amp, if I do have a 1.5 Ohm load, driving them from one amp with the following Specs would give me a total of 525 WRMS X 1, or 262.5 X 2???????????????? Amp: Alpine MRD-M301 350 X 1 WRMS (2 Ohm @ 14.4V) 175 X 1 WRMS (4 Ohm @ 14.4V) The conclusion I drew is that with a resistance with this Amp at 1.5 Ohms, the Amp will produce 525 WRMS. Am I correct? Also, just a quick one... is 14.4V produced when the engine is on, and is it only 12V when the engine is off? Thankyou to anyone who replies...
