I'm trying to keep my costs down as much as possible, so I was wondering how much power is required to get the best out of a set of speakers. For instance, Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 and the Polk Momo MMC690's i'm looking at are both rated at 100W RMS, 400 / 330W peak. I'm not sure what amp I need to go with them to get the most out of the speakers. For instance, the Infinity reference amp is rated at 111W x4 RMS, but it seems very cheap for the power. I've also read some bad reviews on it. Looking at Alpine amps, the MRV-F545 is rated at 125W RMS x4 @ 4ohms, but is pretty expensive. Two other Alpine amps the MRV-F345 and the MRP-F450 are rated at 75x4 and 70x4, and are considerably less expensive. Do I need to pump over 100W RMS to those speakers to get the best out of them? Will a 70W RMS amp power them suffieciently? What type of power should I be looking at to make the most out of my system? I'm not sure if this is relevent, but the reason I'm going with the MMC690 Polk's in the rear is because I've heard they kick out considerable bass, and i'm not going to be running a sub. Will the amount of power make a difference on how much they thump? (obviously it will, but I mean in the context of 125W RMS and 75W RMS) Thanks for the help guys
