I have a single 4 ohm coaxial speaker that can handle around 50w RMS, and to bring up the treble a little bit to the head level I'm wiring another 4 ohm 40w rms tweeter + to + - to - to the coaxials terminals. It's my understanding that the tweeter won't even affect the impedance until notes are playing in it's range (and it's crossed over pretty high.. around 7k) My question is, what overall impedance should the amp be seeing with the combination of a "full range" 4 ohm speaker and a 7khz+ 4 ohm tweeter? And how much voltage should i set the gains to deliver to the combination? Would 90w be too much, considering that the tweeter isn't playing a good deal of the music? Any advice is great.. thanks
