Well, you are wrong. If you spent any time in the industry at all before giving worthless advice you'd know Jeep Cherokees are notorious for broken speaker wires in the factory rubber door boot. If I had a nickel for every time I've seen it I wouldn't have to waste my life correcting worthless people like you. To the original poster: Unfortunately you're original thoughts were correct. You'll need to run a new wire through the door boot. I'm not going to lie, it sucks to do, but it can be done. Take the door panel off and use a coat hanger or antenna to fish a wire through the door boot. Take off the kickpanel, and grab it from above. It's not as easy as it sounds, but I've done it many times. BTW, Chrysler factory amplifiers don't just "drop channels" They either work, or they don't. End of story so don't chase your tail trying that. Also, 9V batteries are good way to ruin perfectly good factory speakers and tweeters, always use a 1.5 volt cell. Good luck!
