[QUOTE="noob with an RS, post: 1041804, member: 558925"] hey i had infinity perfect componets 6".. and then i got a 12" idMAX powered by a MTX 1501d. the perfects were being powered by a hifonics nx600 with about 150 watts going to them with a 1khz test tone playing at "gain level". i then got an audiocontrol EQX to tune my system to make it sound better. for weeks, i was not completely satisfied with my sound.. it was boomy and the highs were there.. but imaging was missing.. and i couldnt figure out why.. after weeks and weeks of thinking, i finally thought since people say perfects lack midbass lets turn the lowest frequency that the components handle up some.. and that frequency i chose was 125 hz because the crossover settting is at 62 so i based it off that.. and i turned it to boost 6 decibels.. i thought this would distort becuz i thoguht thats a lot.. it doesnt.. more imaging is now present (althought not total) and THE BEST PART: i could turn the gain up on my sub amp and the sub will not drown out the componanets anymore!! its LOUD. it kinda seems louder up front too with the new EQ setting.. i made it look like a seagull pretty much but with the highest boost bening 125 hz to 6DB.. any sugestions or experiments?
