???? Mass Production speaker???? AH YA DUDE, go play with your legos. Are you looking at the 2005 Type R? These are more like in the middle of a JL W3v2- W6v2 the power handling is 500 RMS for each one. They have taken alot for the Type X and put into the Type R for 2005. If what you have now sounds good these will sound outstanding. The 2003 model dosen't compare at all with the 2005 Type R. This are power hungry so you will need to get that second amp. They are a SQ sub but they have alot of SPL with that. Compared to the Kicker and the others, they look like they were made in a garage. Depending on what you really are looking for and need you may only need one of these new 2005 Type R's to replace what you have now. By the way all speakers that your looking at are mass produced. Price on these is around $200 ea for a 12", Mom and Pop shops sell them for about $170 ea. Alittle more than the Kicker but once you compare the two, you'll know what I'm taking about.
