Message: <blockquote data-quote="azimuth" data-source="post: 2217625" data-attributes="member: 566682"><p>installed the ppi pc2350. now running that with the xtant 4004a. i was going to wait 'til spring for the new alt.,but when setting the gains on my amp it was pegging the indash volt guage almost to the bottom. i'm almost positive that the amp can't be properly adjust do to this. i wanted to see how it would push the subs, so i got on the freeway and pushed up to 85mph. as i played it loud for around 1 or 2 minutes, the components started to sound like static. sounded awesome for 2 minutes though. long story short. i need an alternator before spring i think. the one i have now is 100 amps i think. the amp rating on my ppi is 150 and i'm not sure about the xtant, i would guess around 50. doing the math it looks like i need a 300 amp alternator or do i need more headroom than that.</p></blockquote><p></p>
