I am building a system for my Camaro that will be powered by a Memphis Belle MCH-600, comps are the hex s600s that I've had for years. My other vehicles have high power Audison(1) and Zapco(2) amplified big dog type subs (type-x, rl-p, and fi-q), but I don't want 300 pounds of power hungry system in my hotrod. I basically am looking for opinions and ideas on a high end sub that will have a one ohm final load, and be happy with 400 watts rms (maybe a little bit more as is usual with Memphis amps). Obviously, I lean on the SQ side of the fence, so keep that in mind. I am willing to go ported (as long as the suggested sub will remain tight and crisp) on this system so lets hear some ideas on that end as well. I'd like to go 12", but a well recommended 10" will be considered. Thanks guys!
