Well, I'm upgrading the audio system in my '66 Olds Toronado. I'm keeping the factory mono AM/FM wonderbar. But I'm putting in some new stereo speakers, and an amplifier. But, I'd really like to be able to connect the bluetooth on my Droid X to my sound system. (For music, absolutely no interest in handsfree calling) I'm just looking for a small unit I can wire in before my amp, hidden under the dash or seat (ideally with a remote) that will give me bluetooth connectivity. I DO NOT want to put in another head, hidden in the glove compartment or some such. I'd like something that I will never have to look at again after I install it. I found the Parrot units, but it looks like they can't be added infront of the amp, only behind. Plus there's all this stuff about mute connections, and a bunch of things that a 45 year old radio just doesn't have, and I really don't need. Can I just add a 3.5mm headphone to RCA, then a pair of RCA splitters on the input to the Amp? I know there's a Belkin unit that will connect to a headphone jack... Any ideas would be appreciated, Thanks.
