Ok, I installed a set of HIDs for a buddy of mines 01 Tundra and his truck is having some problems. Here is what is going on He turns on his headlights on and both HID's power on. His fog lights will not tun on. If he turns on the brights both HID's go out. Fog lights still do not come on. When he turns off the brights only the driver side HID comes back on. If he turns the lights off then back on both HIDs come on. Here is how I wired it. The HID kit I got is for an H4 bulb style and is for low beam (The 01 Tundra has a single buld for low and high beam). On the OEM head light harness there were three wires. When I turn the headlights on two of the wires read 12volts. When I tun on the high beams one wire reads 12 volts and the other 6.5 volts. I taped the power for the ballasts into the wire that stays 12volts on low beams and high beams. I taped the ground wire into the ground wire in the OEM light harness. I do know that when the high beams are on that the fog light turn off but the fog lights do not come on at all. Any insight would be great.
