Right now, with an income tax based system, illegals are able to avoid paying a large amount of what would otherwise be their fair share (they still pay sales tax). If we used a national sales tax, even an illegal would pay their fair share of taxes, because they buy stuff just like legal citizens do. And I also can see the gradation of a national sales tax, as was said before, rich people buy more, and more expensive, items. But, I have an open mind, and would like to see the negatives of such a system. Im sure those negatives exist, but as it stands now, you have provided none of them, only claimed they exist.
