WHen I installed my Kicker 15 L7 a few months ago, I made a 5 cubic foot box for it. The box is 17 inches tall and I literally had to use a car jack and bang up the rear area of my trunk to squeeze the mofo through. Problem, it sort of looks like shit, and the SUB and PORT is facing the SIDE of my car, not the trunk, nor front where I could hang down my rear seats(either way would be louder than when its facing the side now.) I was lazy at the time and didnt feel like making another box(I thought 17 inches would be okay it was my bad for not measuring the box correctly the first time.) SO this is what I want to do. I want to make a little smaller box, Ill say 4- 4.5 cf. Im going to base the design off the first design that I made. I have heard that the best way to get the most output of your sub is to place the port and sub facing torwards where the trunk opens. Im about to complete this process in the next day or so. I constructed my box completely wrong the first time, not using screws(nails) and not using the glue right and shit(the box works fine) I just want to improve my building skills. I have read how and all on the forum Im looking about 4-4.5 cubes and facing torwards the trunk. Is their a big difference from 5 cubes to 4? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. Here is a pic:
