The car is a 02 cadillac seville with the non-bose setup. I'm trying to keep the stock head unit in place and upgrade the front stage. Audio processing and amplification is controlled in the RIM (rear integration module) at the rear seat. The hu only feeds a low level signal to the RIM. I'm wanting to add more highs to the front and make the overall volume louder in the car as well. The OE front speakers are a 2 ohm 6.5" and a 4 ohm 2" tweeter. I have no idea where the RIM has the crossovers set and cannot find any data anywhere for it. With keeping the OE head unit, I will have to get the signal after the RIM via a LOC or high-level input to an amp. My dilemma is whether to do a 2 channel amp and put components up front fed off the 6.5" signal or a 4 channel with each speaker on its own channel. Is anyone familiar with the stock sound processing for these cars. I searched and posted on a cadillac forum but can't get any answers.
