[QUOTE="hectormas40, post: 5836527, member: 609438"] Hi all, Here's my plan.. I am purchasing all my equipment but having a shop do the instal/wiring (trying to save some serious $$, my last system cost $4,000). Here's the system going into an '08 Dodge Charger: 2 6x9's in the front doors factory slots (a sound shop recommeded this over a 6.5" component system separates) with a 1" tweeter in the dash. 2 6x9's in the rear deck, and 2 10" subs in a bandpass enclosure in the trunk. I will be making the amp rack which will utilize the spare tire area, it will be a false floor w/ both the amps (1 4channel & the other amp a 2 channel) staggered over each other, 2 fans, and a blue neon accent tube, all visible through a plexi-glass oval cut into the trunk flooring. 1st off, what do you think of 6x9's in the front doors? I liked the idea of component separates based on my last system, but he says it will sound good (the 6x9's) and add some bass up front. 2nd: What gauge speaker wire should I use? The amps are rated as follows- Lanzar VCT4120 4 channel 1100Watt amp @275 watts x4, or 550 watts x 2. The sub amp is a Lanzar VCT2100 950 Watt 2 channel. 3rd: Coming from the battery, should I go w/a distribution block to both amps, and a 2 amp wiring kit (fused)? What i'm getting at is saving $$ without being sold a bunch of xtra items I really don't need. I'm going for good sound, not thumping , hear me from 2 blocks away obnoxious noise. Also, most shops around here don't want to just install the gear, they want me to buy some of their stuff. I'm buying all my gear online much cheaper (Crutchfield, Elcetrawarhouse, etc.) and just want to pay for the professional instal to save money. I'm not too sure as to what I should get as far as wire/power cable gauges, and distro blocks/fuse holders and amp wiring kits. Thanks for your time and help, I'll be sure to post pics when complete.
