What amp do you have, ie the model number and such. I am going to make an assumption that's it's not really 1000 watt amp, but rather 1000 watts PEAK, most likely rated ~400 watts RMS, and putting out ~300...which is fine, that's all that driver needs, but we still need to know that in order to help you out a bit better. The gain setting, I'd explain, but I'll point you in the direction of a sticky posted in the amp section which will explain this to you very well.</blockquote>
