I'll try to make this as brief as possible. I'm looking for a set of 6.5" components in the $200 range to go in my 07 Dodge Ram Quad cab. I have a roll of raamat that I will be using to deaden the doors and will be making a mounting ring out of mdf for the mids in the door. I'm thinkin about picking up this: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17194 (alpine pdx 4.150 150 watts x 4) to power the components and the rear speakers (stock for now, will possibly upgrade later. Using the rears because I have a dvd player with 5.1 surround sound that we watch movies on). As far as the sound I'm looking for....I'm looking for something that has a nice "rich/smooth" sound if that makes any sense. I hate speakers that have ear piercing harsh highs. Good detail is definitely nice, but just not harsh. So far, these are the sets that I'm considering: Image Dynamics CTX65CS http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6201 Diamond Audio S600s http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=11755 CDT Audio EF-61FG/TW25 PRO http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4630 (seems like there's a million different combinations of cdt components on woofersetc. I had a set of cdt's in my expedition that got totaled but i can't remember exactly which ones they were, but i know i liked em) Alpine SPX-17REF http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=18520 Cadence CVL-6K http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6030 That's my list at the moment.
